Mission Statement and Explanation

Mission Statement: Filling our hearts with the presence of God so that we overflow into the lives of others.

God provides a river of life to every believer.  The river of God:
     1) has a source

     2) gives life
     3) brings refreshment
     4) flows into our lives and through us to others

Faith Lutheran Church is  “In the river and full of life!”

The river has a source
Our faith trusts in Jesus Christ our Savior. Jesus, the Lamb of God, now reigns with the Father and together they pour out the river of life which is the Holy Spirit.

“The angel showed me a river that was crystal clear, and its waters gave life. The river came from the throne where God and the Lamb were seated. Then it flowed down the middle of the city's main street.” Rev. 22:1

The river gives life:
The water comes with the power of God to bring forgiveness, salvation, life and healing to all people.

“On each side of the river are trees that grow a different kind of fruit each month of the year. The fruit gives life, and the leaves are used as medicine to heal the nations.”   Rev. 22:2

The river brings refreshment:
The Holy Spirit floods our lives with gifts and blessings from heaven.

“Whoever drinks the water I give him will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life.” John 4:14

   The river flows:
God is always flowing to help and to save. Believers who have spent time in the river are full of God’s life-giving water and overflow into the lives of others.

“On the last and most important day of the festival, Jesus stood up and shouted, ‘If you are thirsty, come to me and drink! Have faith in me, and you will have life-giving water flowing from deep inside you, just as the Scriptures say.’ By this he meant the Spirit, whom those who believed in him were later to receive." John 7:37-39a

“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” Rom 15:13
